Hungarian Resident Doctors’ Association is a non-profit and non-governmental organization representing Hungarian junior doctors. Four regional sub-associations and a central leadership work together for the junior doctors’ sake since the residency system was introduced in 1999. The association delegates members to several state and parlamental committees and has good relationship with other national medical societies. The association’s main activity in 2011 is the “Liveable health for Hungary” project that focuses on healthcare professionals wages and work conditions. The association gives advices for its members in legal and any other issues related to young doctors and supports their professional activities (eg. research, networking, conferences, etc.). This work is supported by several self designed surveys recording regularly amongst medical students, junior doctors and healthcare providers.
