Professional and ethical use of social media
31. July 2011
The EJD Executive Board replied on the "Proposed WMA Statement on the professional and ethical usage of social media" to help developing a guideline for doctors in the use of Social Media.
The EJD strongly believes in the freedom of speech of a private person and that there should be no new restrictions set by any authority, except for those already existing outside the cyberspace (e.g. Doctor-Patient confidentiality). Morover expanding all real life limits of Doctor-Patient relationships onto various kinds of cyber-contacts could put any doctor in a permanent legal danger, when using the Internet.
The full response is available for registered User in the EJD Workspace.
