EJD presence at the VI National Congress of the Bulgarian Medical Association

European Junior Doctors were represented at the VI National Congress of the Bulgarian Medical Association, which entailed an nternational participation aand featured the main theme:  "Policies in healthcare".  The Congress took place on the 24th and 25th of November 2023 at the Grand Hotel Millenium in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

EJD representative, Alvaro Cerame, Chair of the Medical Workforce Committee (MWF) and incoming EJD President 2024-2025, addressed the participants as a speaker among a panel of prestigious guests from WMA, UEMO, FEMS and the Bulgarian Medical Association, with a presentation on the EJD structure, history and current areas of work, including a special mentioning of the recently published FTT Report "From Tradition to Transition: Navigating Through the Health Care Workforce Crisis in Europe" that was adopted last October at the General Assembly in Murcia, Spain.

The Report provides comprehensive insights into the evolving roles and challenges junior doctors face today and is essential for understanding the ongoing shifts in healthcare lately as well as the integral part junior doctors play.

Bulgaria is an invited observer country at EJD meetings and this collaboration comes in alignment with the close relationship that is being fostered between both organisations.
